PAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION (PYA), JOS BRANCH'S MEETING FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, 2022 RECORDED ANOTHER TREMENDOUS TURNOUT.

 *1* . The Jos Branch of Pan Youth Association (PYA) held its meeting for the month of November, 2022 amidst another massive turnout. The Chairman of Pan Youth Association (PYA), Jos Branch, *Comr. YOUTH ASSOCIATION (PYA), JOS BRANCH'S MEETING FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, 2022 RECORDED ANOTHER TREMENDOUS TURNOUT.*


dividends, urged all members to contribute towards the success of this year's Bit Jepsual/Duan Pan/Food Carnival, after which members introduced themselves and the minute of the last meeting was read.

 *2.* The talk for the day was presented by the former National President of Pan Youth Association (PYA) and former Secretary of Qua'an-Pan LGA, *Sir Nathaniel Doeko'os(KSM)* on the topic: *YOUTH & POLITICAL INTEGRATION AHEAD OF 2023 ELECTION.* _Sir Doeko'os_ started by defining the word " _Youth_ " as a transition process from dependent stage to independent stage. He further defined it according to *Common Wealth:* 15-29 years of age, *African Youth Charter:* 15-35 years of age and *The Nigerian National Youth Policy:* 18-35 years (2009) & 18-29 years of age (2019). 



      The Guest Speaker did a review of youth integration in Nigerian politics, starting from the *Pre-independence* National Youth Movement of _Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Ahmadu Bello, Obafemi Awolowo, Enahoro_ etc at their 30s. The *Post Independence* Military Intervention by young officers like *Major Kaduna Nzeogu, Gen. Yakubu Gowon* , etc. The _Fourth Republic_ which gave birth to young leaders like *Donald Duke* of Cross River,  *Ibrahim Saminu Turaki* of Jigawa State, *Joshua Dariye* of Plateau State, *Dimeji Bankole,* Speaker House of Reps., *Nuhu Abok,* PLSHA Speaker, etc.

      Sir Doeko'os statistically depicted the percentage of total votes cast in the 2019 general elections as 28.6 million, 19 million (46.3%) of registered youths voted, constituting 66% of total votes, the largest bloc. Unfortunately, youth representation & participation in governance and decision making is just about 1%. He further outlined reasons for youths low participation in politics as lack of finance, lack of mentorship & lack of discipline. Doeko'os opined that the youths can be integrated into Nigerian politics through lobbying, effective discharge of duties, shunning of stomach infrastructure, etc. He again drew the attention of the youths to the importance of the 2023 elections, saying the youths have 51 million votes (56%) out of the 96 million registered voters in the country. He therefore challenged the youths to identify, support and intentionally vote for candidates with ideology, sound political principles, track record of youth inclusion, etc.

 *3.* The committee Chairman of Bit Jepsual/Duan Pan/Food Carnival 2022, *Comr. Dapoen Michael Na'anbuagat* presented the committee's progress reports and urged all hands to be on deck to ensure that this year's event becomes a success.


 *4* . The PRO, Pan Development Association (PDA), Jos Branch, *Mr. Katgoen Dasoem* spoke on the unity of Pan and presented *Alhaji Attah's* financial support to Pan Youths October babies for their refreshment.



 *5.* Pan Youth Association (PYA) October babies were celebrated in a grand style. Sir. Nathaniel Doeko'os(KSM) prayed for the October babies, pictures were snapped and all wished them well.



 *6* . The National President, Pan Youth Association (PYA), COMR YONMI SIMON DAMA extensively, deeply and passionately spoke on the unity of Pan, the need for the youths to always hold in high esteem the identity of Pan Nation and shun the act of inheriting and propagating the grudges, hatreds and tantrums of their elders, fathers, forefathers and those who do not mean well for Pan Nation.




 *7* . The meeting was rounded off with a closing prayer, snapshots, refreshment, gists in clusters and exchange of pleasantries. A total of *142 members* were present.

ZIBEN DAMUOS speaks about his coming album "MAN LIKE ZIBEN "
